If you entered as a freshman, you are given eight semesters to complete your degree.

Under the semester system on the UC Berkeley campus, the academic year is divided into two semesters and one summer session.

Guidelines for pass/no pass grades

Pass (P) grades require a level of performance at least equal to a letter grade of C- and will earn units, but no grade points. No pass (NP) grades represent a level of performance at a D+ or lower. No units or grade points will be earned. Neither P nor NP grades will affect your GPA.

You may be granted a withdrawal at any time during the semester up through the last day of instruction (i.e., last day of RRR week). If you withdraw between the first day of classes and Friday of the eighth week of classes, you may be eligible for readmission the following term.
